DescriptionA black-and-white, head-and-shoulders photograph of Sandy Koufax. Koufax is looking towards a baseball he is holding in his left hand. He is wearing his Los Angeles Dodgers jacket and cap. There are editing marks visible on the photograph. The caption at the bottom reads, "Pittsburgh, May 23 -- One Hit Ball -- Pitcher Sandy Koufax of the Los Angeles Dodgers displays the ball that ended a game against the Pittsburgh Pirates tonight on a fine note for him. He pitched his very first victory of the year--a one-hit, 1-0 shutout over the first place Pirates at Forbes Field. The only hit was smacked by pitcher Bennie Daniels. He got a single in the second inning. Up until tonight Koufax had a 40-4 mark. 1960." According the the caption, this photograph was taken on May 23, 1960.
