Cuban Giants versus Atlantic City scorecard

DescriptionA scorecard for a game between the Cuban Giants and the Atlantic City Baseball Club of New Jersey on July 23, 1896. This game was possibly played at Inlet Park. The scorecard is scored in pencil and the rosters are typed in. The scorecard is surrounded by many advertisements. The front cover is green with a red and white banner in the center that reads "Atlantic City Base Ball Club" and to its right is an oval image of W.C. Clancy of Oberlin College. A skyline is in the background with a baseball bat and ball under Clancy. The top advertises the "Public Ledger" as a complete modern newspaper. The bottom of the cover has an advertisement for Trimble Whiskey. The back cover has advertisements for Edw. K. Tryon, Jr. & Co., a sporting goods retailer. The covers are detached from the scorecard. Atlantic City won the game 6-4. The front cover has "1894" written in pencil but a box score in the Philadelphia Inquirer confirms the game was played in 1896.
