DescriptionCircular metal button with a straight pin on the back side. Front surface features a white background, a color depiction of a man's face wearing a black cap with an orange bird on the front, "Baltimore" in red lettering along the left side, "Orioles" in red lettering along the right side, and "Gus Triandos 1b" in black lettering along the bottom edge.
Bio/Historical NoteTopps ventured away from baseball cards for the first time in 1956, putting out a set of 60 player pins. The pins were sold separately from the cards, packaged in a small box featuring a photo of the pin, or button as they were called. The box cost a nickel and included a stick of gum.
