DescriptionLight gray shirt, size 44, with six gray buttons down the front placket and "New York" in black and white appliques across the front chest. There is a black manufacturer logo on the proper right upper chest. Sleeve ends have black and white striped trim. Proper left front shirttail has a black manufacturer logo as well as two white labels beneath. Proper left sleeve has "16" in black appliques with an oval-shaped black patch beneath with "HGS" in white embroidered lettering. Back side of the shirt has an MLB logo patch at the top back of the neck with "17" in black and white appliques.
Bio/Historical NoteRoad uniform shirt worn by Yankees manager Aaron Boone on October 9, 2020, when the Yankees fell to the Tampa Bay Rays in the deciding Game 5 of the ALDS. For that game, each Yankees jersey included the number 16 on its left sleeve in honor of Hall of Famer Whitey Ford, who passed away the previous evening while watching Game 4 of the ALDS on television. The shirt also features an "HGS" patch in memory of the late Hank Steinbrenner.
