Both gentlemen are dressed in suits and overcoats. Mack is holding a piece of paper in his hands. A newspaper clipping is affixed to the back of the photograph (not shown) (not shown) and states, "Landis and Mack See Opening Game New York, Sept. 30--Baseball commissioner Kenesaw Mountain Landis (left) and Connie Mack, veteran manager of the Philadelphia Athletics, are shown chatting at the first game of the World's Series at the Polo Grounds today.9/30/36" Based on the newspaper clipping this photograph was taken on September 30, 1936. On this day, the New York Yankees face the New York Giants and lost 1-6. This image exists in a similar form as BL-1507-68.
