DescriptionA typed letter from Commissioner Kenesaw Landis to Alexander Cleland, December 10, 1938. Landis writes to Cleland to ask if he would be part of the National Baseball Centennial Commission. Landis tells him there woud be no financial obligation, no solicitation or other impositions. This appointment is regarded as an expression of interest in this event. Landis ask for an early and favorable reply and it is signed "Kenesaw M. Landis." The top of the page has the commissioner's office address as "Room 2200, 333 North Michigan Avenue, Chicago," with the date to the right. The bottom left has the recipient's name and address, "149 Broadway, New York, N.Y." The verso (not shown) is blank.
