Muckerman is also smiling while looking towards Collins. Collins is making eye contact with Cronin and has a slight grin. Cronin, Muckerman and Collins are all dressed in suits. The first caption on the back of the photograph states, "A recent photograph of the great second baseman of the Philadelphia Athletics." The second caption on the back of the photograph states, "Joe Cronin (left), general manager of the Boston Red Sox, and Eddie Collins (right), Vice President of the BOSOX, chat with sales-minded Richard Muckerman, President of the St. Louis Browns, during lull in American League Baseball meeting at Waldorf Astoria, New York City, Dec. 9. 12/9/47." Based on the caption, this photograph was taken on December 9, 1947.
