DescriptionA black-and-white photograph of Eddie Collins and Herb Pennock meeting their newborn grandchild, Edward Trowbridge Collins, III. Also photographed is Mrs. Collins, Jr. Eddie Collins, left, stands next to the bed with his hands behind his back while looking down at his grandson with a small smile. Pennock is standing at the head of the bed, while smiling at the baby. Mrs. Collins, Jr. is seated in bed, looking down at her infant son in her arms. The baby has his eyes open and appears to be yawning. The caption on the back of the photograph states, "Eddie Collins, Sr., (left), Boston Red Sox General Manager, and Herb Pennock, named General Manager of the Philadelphia National League Baseball Club, Dec. 1, look over Eddie Collins, 3rd, their two-weeks old grandson, at Wilmington, Del., hospital Dec. 1. Mrs. Collins, Jr. is Pennock's daughter." Based on the caption, this photograph was taken on December 1, 1943.
