Ossie Vitt Dugout negative

DescriptionA black-and-white negative of Ossie Vitt captured in the Cleveland Indians dugout. From left to right in the front row is Ken Keltner, Harry Eisenstat, Ossie Vitt and Soup Campbell. Keltner is seated looking to his left whereas Eisenstat has one foot up on the bench and is looking to his right. Vitt has a large smile and has his fingers laced together while his feet rest on the bottom step on the stairs that lead into the dugout. Campbell is standing with his arms crossed and has a serious expression. All four gentlemen are dressed in the Cleveland Indians home uniform. Other unidentified Indians players are seated in the back row of the dugout. Vitt managed the Indians from 1938 through 1940. Above the dugout, numerous fans are visible throughout the stands. Based on Vitt's uniform and his time with the Indians, this negative was probably taken in 1940.
