DescriptionA black-and-white photo of a monument dedicated to Hall of Fame pitcher Charles "Old Hoss" Radbourn. The image shows three men surrounding and honoring the monument. On the bottom (not shown), written in black ink, is a caption that reads, "MONUMENT TO HALL-OF-FAME PITCHER CHARLIE (OLD H0SS) RADBOURNE, BLOOMINGTON, ILL." Pasted on the reverse (not shown), typed in blue ink, is a caption that reads, " The Daily Pantagraph Bloomington, Illinois April 10, 1951. My dear Mr. Lanigan: I am enclosing a copy of the picture of the Old Hoss Radbourn monument made recently and requested by you on Mar. 20. Thos in the picture, left to right: Fred Young, sports editor of the Pantagraph; Edward Dancisak of the Boston Braves, for whom Radbourne once played and james Tuley, adjutant of Louis E. Davis post American League post No. 56 of Bloomington. With kindest personal regards, I am Yours very cordially. Fred Young.
