Anson, officials high in civic life, members of the new york Giants and Chicago Cubs and many other notables today participated in the unveiling of a monument to "Pop" Anson at Oakwoods cemetery, Chicago. Oral tributes were paid by Mayor Dever, Judge, Landis and John A Heydler, president of the national League. The granite shaft, beneath symbolic crossed bats and baseball and the name Adrian Constantine Anson bears the inscript-tion" He played the game."
