DescriptionBrooklyn Grooms Official Scorecard, 1892. The scorecard is from a doubleheader between the New York Giants and the Brooklyn Grooms on June 28, 1892 at Eastern Park in Brooklyn, New York. Both games have been scored with Brooklyn winning the first game by a score of 12 to 5, and New York winning the second game by a score of 8 to 3. The scorecard is is printed with blue and black ink and filled out in pencil. The advertisements on the scorecard include Baldwin, Clothier, Sporting Life, Hanan & Son Men's Shoes, Goetz & Co., Pennsylvania Railroad, and Royal Blue Line Trains. The front cover is printed with blue and gold ink. There is a baseball collage that includes a large baseball, baseball bats, a glove, a catcher's mask, a base and palm leaves. On the baseball and the base is a Brooklyn schedule for the Spring Championship Series and the Fall Championship Series. The cover reads "Official Score Card Brooklyn Base Ball Club" and "Eastern Park 1892." The back cover is printed with blue, gold and red ink. It has an advertisement for the Empire State Express with pictures of the train, Grand Central Station, the Hudson River, and Niagara Falls.
