DescriptionA black-and-white photograph of Satchel Paige in Mexico shooting for the movie The Wonderful Country. He is standing with an unidentified man. The image caption on the reverse (not shown) reads, "Is He Gonna Be A Star--Satchel Paige is down Mexico way these days playing a big role in the Bob Mitchum-Julie London picture, 'The Wonderful Country.' The Satch is taking his new career very seriously and shows real acting talent, according to Director Robert Farrish and author Tom Lea. United Artists will release this M.P.L. production, which also features Gary Merrill, Jack Oakie, Albert Dekker, Pedro Armendariz, Victor Mendoza, and Charles McGraw. Producer is Chester Erskine."
