Bio/Historical NoteBaseball autographed and used by Ken Holtzman of the Chicago Cubs when he pitched a no-hitter at Wrigley Field on August 19, 1969, beating the Atlanta Braves 3-0. A member of the Illinois National Guard, Cubs pitcher Ken Holtzman lost playing time during the Vietnam War. He pitched this no-hitter despite suffering an eye injury two weeks earlier during military field maneuvers.
