DescriptionA black-and-white photograph of Lefty Grove captured looking straight ahead demonstrating how he held the baseball. Grove has a straight face. He is dressed in a button down shirt. A caption on the front of the photograph (not shown) states, "Hall of Fame pitcher Robert Moses (Lefty) Grove shows how he held his 'fork ball' while compiling 300 victories against 141 defeats in 17 years of major league baseball. The tall, silver-haired Grove, who retired 2,271 batters before he retired in 1941, moved to his son's home here about a month ago from Lonaconing, Md. 1961"
