DescriptionA black-and-white photograph of Charlie Gehringer, right, captured receiving a letter honoring him and inducting him to the all america baseball team in 1938 from an unidentified gentleman on the left. Gehringer and the unidentified gentleman have serious expressions on their faces. Gehringer is wearing a sweater that reads "All America" and a baseball. The paper the gentlemen are holding states, "All American Board of Baseball having considered the performance of all eligible baseball players in the United States hereby designates Charles Gehringer Detroit Tigers as a member of the All American Baseball Team 1938." Based on the letter this photograph was taken in approximately 1938.
