DescriptionA typed contract between Charlie Ripple and the Columbus Red Birds, American Association, August 25, 1936. The top of page one reads "Contract approved by the National Association of Professional Base Ball Leagues, Uniform Player's Contract, Class AA". The top left, stamped in blue, states it was received Sept. 5, 1936 at the league office. The contract states this is an agreement between the Columbus Baseball Club and Charles D. Ripple of Whiteville, N.C. and he is to be paid $65.00 per month for the 1937 season. Page two is signed by the team president D.E. Beach, the player, and the player's mother. Page three is the player and club president's executed affidavits, witnessed by a notary public. The bottom of page three has the regulations and page four is the contract summary and signed by the league president as approved, George Troutman, Sept. 3, 1936. The top of page four, written in pencil, reads "voluntarily retired March 22, 1937."
