DescriptionA black-and-white photograph of Nellie Fox at bat for the Chicago White Sox. Fox is looking out at the pitcher and has a straight face. Fox is dressed in the Chicago White Sox road uniform. The number 2 is visible on Fox's uniform. An unidentified stadium is visible in the background behind the batting cage. The caption on the back of the photograph (not shown) states, "Premier A.L. second baseman in the 1950's. Whitey Ford once said, 'Nellie was the toughest out for me. In 12 yrs. I struck him out once." Based on Fox's uniform and his time with the White Sox, this photograph was taken between 1952 and 1963.
