DescriptionA black-and-white photograph of Negro League team owners gathered around a table. The end closest to the camera is vacant. Some owners are looking towards the camera while others look down at the table or at other points in the room. The image caption on the reverse reads, "3rd from L-Wilkinson (KC Monarchs) [internal note that this may be a possible misidentification], center-Gus Greenlee, 3rd from R-Ed Bolden (Phil Stars)." Additional research identifies the players as, from left to right: Syd Pollock (Indy Clowns), B.B. Martin (Memphis Red Sox), Tom Baird (KC Monarchs), W.S. Martin (Memphis Red Sox), J.B. Martin (NAL President and Chicago American Giants), Ernest Wright (Cleveland Buckeyes), Fay Young (Chicago Defender writer), Wilbur Hayes (Buckeyes), Tom Hayes, Jr. (Birmingham Black Barons).
