Bio/Historical NoteCap worn by Chris Heston of the San Francisco Giants on June 9, 2015 for his no-hitter at Citi Field against the New York Mets, a 5-0 Giants win. Heston, a 27-year-old rookie, became the first pitcher to close out a no-no with three punchouts in the ninth since Koufax threw his fabled perfect game in 1965. In just his 13th start of his major league career, Heston became the first rookie pitcher to toss a no-hitter since Boston Red Sox's Clay Buchholz tossed one on September 1, 2007 and only the third Giants rookie pitcher to do so.
