DescriptionWatercolor on paper painting, landscape orientation, of a baseball player wearing a red and white uniform sliding into a base with another baseball player wearing a blue uniform crouching over him. Background is blue with green grass and red orange at the bottom. "My Father Sliding in Boston in 1929" is handwritten in pencil along the left bottom corner and "Lance Richbourg 2016" is handwritten in pencil in the lower right corner. Painting is framed against a white background and encased in a white wooden frame. Sticker on the back indicates the company who framed the piece, "Frames For You and Mona Lisa Too."
Bio/Historical NoteWatercolor painting entitled "My Father Sliding in Boston in 1929" by artist Lance Richbourg. Lance Richbourg is Professor of Fine Arts and the longest serving art professor at Saint Michael's College. Richbourg's father, Lance Richbourg Sr., was signed in 1919 by John McGraw of the New York Giants and played professional baseball until 1938.
