Phil Pote straw hat

DescriptionOvular woven straw hat with a wide, upturned brim and a thin leather band wrapped and sewn around the base of the hat where the brim starts. There is a small metal kangaroo charm sewn to a small piece of leather sewn around the band. The hat is shaped on the top with raised sides on the proper left and right and a small raised space in the center, pinched slightly at the front. Along the front of the interior of the hat is a piece of terry cloth for a sweatband. There is a manufacturer label in the back of interior of the hat.
Bio/Historical NoteStraw hat worn by scout Phil M. Pote, who worked for the Oakland A's, the Los Angeles Dodgers, and the Seattle Mariners.
