Cool Papa Bell shoes

Datebetween 1922 and 1946

DescriptionBlack leather shoes with thick black laces tipped in plastic. Long tongues on each shoe have manufacturer labels sewn inside. Bottom soles are leather with six metal spikes.

Bio/Historical NoteShoes worn by legendary base stealer James "Cool Papa" Bell, whose career with various clubs in the segregated Negro leagues stretched from 1922 to 1946.
