DescriptionBlack leather and nylon shoes, size 13, with black laces as well as red detailing and red manufacturer logos on both the inner and outer sides. Oversize tongues extend down over the laces and are secured with hook-and-loop fasteners. Tops of the tongues have "Nike" with a logo embroidered in white and MLB Authentication hologram stickers. Interior undersides of the tongues have manufacturer labels. Left shoe has additional rubber toe reinforcement. "31" is handwritten in black ink on the inner manufacturer logo on each shoe. Heels have a white embroidered logo at the top ankle and "Coop IV" inscribed on the outer heels. "Zoom Air" is encased in a rectangular clear casing on the lower heel. Insoles are black. Bottom soles are black and gray plastic with nine metal spikes.
Bio/Historical NoteShoes worn by Boston Red Sox pitcher Jon Lester during his no-hitter against the Kansas City Royals at Boston's Fenway Park on May 19, 2008. The 24-year-old southpaw, who endured cancer treatments in 2006, walked just two batters and struck out nine during the first no-hit performance of the season.
