DescriptionDiscolored leather baseball with stitching in an H-style design. Around the perimeter of the ball is a white painted stripe with red edging at the top and bottom. "Aug 13th 1864 / Peterboro 18 / Oneida Castle 13" is in red painted lettering across the white stripe.
Bio/Historical NoteTrophy ball from a game played August 13, 1864 between the Peterboro and Oneida Castle baseball clubs. Peterboro won, 18-13. Peterboro pitcher, Gerrit Smith Miller, pitched in this game.
