DescriptionA black-and-white photograph of Nellie Fox. Fox is captured with a slight smile and chewing tobacco is visible in his left cheek. He is dressed in a Chicago White Sox home uniform. An unidentified stadium is in the background. The caption on the back of the photograph (not shown) states, "Veteran second baseman Nellie Fox, 35, was sold Dec. 10 by the Chicago White Sox to the Houston Colts for an undisclosed price. Fox, who has played with the White Sox for 14 years years, has appeared in 14 all-star games and owns a .289 lifetime batting average." Based on the caption and Fox's time with the White Sox, this photograph was probably taken in 1963.
