DescriptionA black-and-white half-length photograph of Jimmy Collins sitting in an armchair. Collins, shown from the waist up, wears a three-piece suit and tie. Seated, resting both elbows on each arm of the chair, Collins looks forward, establishing eye contact with the camera. A caption pasted on the reverse (not shown), typed in black ink, reads, "JIMMY COLLINS ILLL SEVENTY-THREE YEARS OLD AND STILL CALLED ONE OF BASEBALL'S GREATEST THIRD BASEMEN JAMES J. (JIMMY) COLLINS WAS CRITICALLY ILL OF PNEUMONIA ON FEB. 27 IN A BUFFALO HOSPITAL. 2/27/43." Stamped on the reverse (not shown), in red ink, is the phrase, "RECEIVED MAR 1 1943."
