Charles Comiskey and Donie Bush photograph

Date1931 March 17
DescriptionA black-and-white half-length photograph of Charles Comiskey and Donie Bush sitting, watching an exhibition game. Bush, left, closest to the camera, shown in profile, wears a Chicago White Sox road uniform. To Comiskey's left, seated sideways in a chair, Bush leans forward, resting his right hand in his lap while placing his left arm on the back of the chair. Bush looks forward, to a point in the distance and to the right of the camera. Comiskey, center, wearing a three piece suit and bow tie, turns his head to his left, directing his gaze to a point to the right of the camera. Seated, Comiskey rests both arms on the arms of the chair, holding in his left hand his fedora, in his right a cane. Several other figures, also seated, can be seen in the background of the photograph. Pasted on the reverse (not shown), a caption, typed in black ink, reads, "WATCHING THE WHITE SOX. MANAGER DONIE BUSH (LEFT), AND CHARLES COMISKEY, OWNER OF THE CHICAGO WHITE SOX, WATCH THEIR BOYS WORK OUT DURING A SPRING TRAINING EXHIBITION GAME BETWEEN THE SOX AND THE NEW YORK GIANTS AT SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS. 3/17/31." Stamped on the reverse (not shown) in red ink, is the phrase, "RECEIVED MAR 18 1931."
