Rogers Hornsby photograph

Datecirca 1930
DescriptionA black-and-white photograph of Rogers Hornsby taken from the chest up wearing a Chicago Cubs home uniform. Hornsby's head and body are angled towards the camera, while his head is slightly down and forward. A caption on the back (not shown) reads, "The 'Rajah' is back on the Job-Chicago ILL. Sept. 5, 1930 - Rogers Hornsby 'Rajah' is back at 2nd base after being laid up with a broken leg since Memorial Day. He will steady the infield play and boost the teams batting average. Late portrait of Hornsby." Based on the date of the caption, Hornsby's time with the Cubs, and his uniform style, the photograph was most likely taken circa 1930.
