Christy Mathewson and Others photograph

Dateundated
DescriptionA black-and-white, head-and-shoulders photograph of Christy Mathewson above drawings of four Bucknell College football players, identified on the reverse (not shown) as Diehl, Halicki, Bollinger and Trimmer. A partial newspaper clipping in which the illustration was used is appended to the back of the photograph. The image caption (also not shown) reads, \When the Bucknell eleven fights the Army at West Point tomorrow, the Bisons will be impelled by the spirit of Christy Mathewson, one of their most famous alumni. Matty played for Bucknell against the Army at the Point in 1898, and kicked a 48-yard field goal, which help to make an interesting afternoon for the Cadets."
