DescriptionA black-and-white photograph of Mel Ott, right, and Carl Hubbell, left, captured having a discussion by a water cooler. Hubbell has his right arm resting on top of the water cooler and is looking out of the corner of his eye to his right while talking to Ott. Ott is looking intently at Hubbell and has his right hand resting on top of the water cooler. Both gentlemen are wearing New York Giants baseball caps. An unidentified Giants player is in the background on a baseball field. A newspaper clipping is on the back of the photograph (not shown) and states, "Mel Ott (right), manager of the New York Giants, and Carl Hubbell, Director of the club's farm system, discuss plans for the coming baseball season at the Giants' spring training camp, at Lakewood, N.J., March 12. The Giants wound up the 1944 season in fifth place." Based on the newspaper clipping and a date stamp on the back (also not shown), this photograph was taken on March 12, 1945.
