DescriptionA black-and-white photograph of Mel Ott and Gabby Hartnett captured observing a baseball practice. Hartnett, left, has his right arm resting on top of a water cooler and is looking forward with a straight face. Ott, right, is standing next to Hartnett and is resting his right hand against a baseball bat. He is looking in the same direction as Hartnett. Both Ott and Hartnett are dressed in New York Giants road uniforms. Numerous baseball bats are visible on the grass in the background. Based on Ott's uniform and his time with the Giants, this photograph was probably taken in 1943.
