DescriptionA black-and-white photograph of Babe Ruth and Charlie Berry colliding at home plate. The caption from a similar image, that is not in our collection, reads "Babe Ruth is shown after crashing with catcher Charlie Berry of the Red Sox in yesterday's opening game at Fenway Park. The play occurred in the first half of the sixth inning when Babe scored on an outfield fly. He previously had hurt his ankle in a play at third base and in the last half of the sixth collapsed while chasing a fly, was carried from the field and taken to the Peter Bent Brigham Hospital."
