DescriptionA black-and-white photograph of Los Angeles Dodgers' pitcher, Sandy Koufax, captured on the pitcher's mound during a difficult inning during game two of the 1966 World Series against the Baltimore Orioles on October 6, 1966. Koufax is holding his baseball cap in his left hand as he wipes his forehead with his right arm while looking down. He is dressed in the Los Angeles Dodgers home uniform. A newspaper clipping is affixed to the side of the front of the photograph and states, "Sandy Koufax, ace of the Dodger pitching stall, wipes his brow as he struggles in the sixth inning after Dodger errors allowed 3 runs in the fifth and a judgement error gave Frank Robinson a triple in the sixth inning and eventually another Baltimore run. Koufax was replaced in the 7th inning." A newspaper clipping is affixed to the back of the photograph and states, "Sandy Koufax Trying Time." Based on the newspaper clipping this photograph was taken on October 6, 1966 during the World Series where the Orioles swept the Dodgers in four game.
