Rabbit with a Baseball photograph

Date1953 April 01
DescriptionA black-and-white photograph of a rabbit sitting behind a National League official baseball. The baseball is positioned under the rabbit's chin with the signature of National League president, Ford C. Frick, on the front of the ball. A caption on the reverse (not shown) reads, "Rabbit Baseball Fan Accused - No, this rabbit hasn't been hired by the Major Leagues to inspect the {?] baseballs even though the bunny definitely seems to be in the ball with all the lofty [?] and longer homers being socked. Naturally he's interested in the talk that he or some of his relatives have had something to do with the tremendous blasts of Milwaukee's Joe Adcock, the Yanks' Mickey Mantle and a few other big leaguers. However, after careful inspection of the evidence, our big-eared fan reported that he and his pals are entirely innocent of the charge of causing the much feared (by pitchers, that is) 'four baggeritis.' Case Dismissed!"
