BiographyMuddy Ruel played for the St. Louis Browns (1915, 1933), New York Yankees (1917-1920), Boston Red Sox (1921-1922, 1931), Washington Senators of the American League (1923-1930), Detroit Tigers (1931-1932), and the Chicago White Sox (1934). After his playing career, Ruel coached for the White Sox, Cleveland Indians, managed the Browns (1947), served as general manager of the Tigers, and worked in the commissioners office.
