BiographyMLB Catcher and Pinch Hitter; Minor league coach; "Brian James Esposito (born February 24, 1979 in Staten Island, New York) is an American minor league baseball manager and former professional baseball catcher who appeared in three games in the Major Leagues in brief stints with the St. Louis Cardinals (2007) and Houston Astros (2010). In March 2013, Esposito signed with the Pittsburgh Pirates as a player-coach. Since 2018, Esposito has been the manager of the Pittsburgh Pirates' Triple-A affiliate, the Indianapolis Indians of the International League. He had spent 2017 as pilot of the Pirates' Class A Short Season farm team, the West Virginia Black Bears.[6] He previously managed the Pirates Class A affiliate, the West Virginia Power of the South Atlantic League.
