DescriptionA black-and-white triple photograph of Connie Mack captured golfing. Mack is dressed in casual wear and has a hat on. In the photograph on the left Mack is looking down as he hold the golf club over his right shoulder about to swing. In the middle photograph Mack is looking off into the distance and he is holding the golf club up in front of him. In the photograph on the right Mack looks off into the distance as he completes his swing. A newspaper clipping is affixed to the back of the photograph (not shown) and states, "A Good Sport Takes Up A New Sport Connie Mack, 88-year-old retired manager of the Philadelphia Athletics, is taking up a new sport -- golf. In this series of pictures he is working out the kinks in his driving form on a driving range at West Palm Beach, Fla. Many of his drives are good for 175 yards.3/3/51."A newspaper clipping is affixed to the front of an additional copy (not shown) states, ",arch 3 A New Sport--And He Looks Good--Connie Mack, 88-year-old retired manager of the Philadelphia Athletics, is taking up a new sport. Here he works the kinks out of his form on a driving range at West Palm Beach, Fla. Many of his drives are good for 175 yards." Based on the newspaper clippings these photographs were taken on March 3, 1951.
