DescriptionA black-and-white full-length photograph of Jimmie Foxx golfing. Foxx, shown in 3/4 profile, wears dress shoes, dress pants and a polo. Leaning forward, Foxx places his right hand over left on the grip of the golf club. Rotating his upper body to his left, towards the camera, Foxx raises the club slightly off the ground. Looking forward, Foxx establishes eye contact with the camera. Captured on the golf course, the green and several trees can be seen in the background. Pasted on the reverse (not shown), a caption, typed in black ink, reads, "FOXX GETS THE KINKS OUT CLEARWATER, FLA., JAN.22--HERE ROUNDING INTO SHAPE FOR THE 1937 BASEBALL SEASON, JIMMIE FOXX,FIRST BASEMAN FOR THE BOSTON RED SOX, IS SHOWN AS HE SANK A PUTT IN A PRO-AMATEUR GOLF TOURNAMENT HERE YESTERDAY. 1/22/37 8:33P." Stamped on the reverse (not shown), in black ink, is the date, "JAN 26 1937."
