Mack looks forward to the golf ball in the foreground to the left of the hole. A newspaper clipping is affixed to the back of the photograph (not shown) and states, "Orlando, Fla., Jan. 21 -- Connie Mack, veteran manager of the Philadelphia Athletics, concentrates on golf in preparation for the strenuous baseball season. He doesn't seem worried by predictions that his team, wrecked by sales, is likely to find itself at the bottom of the American League.1-21-36." Based on the newspaper clipping this photograph was taken on January 21, 1936.
