DescriptionA three-page handwritten letter from Geraldine Farrar to Alexander Cleland, May 2, 1939. The letter is written on Farrar letterhead that reads "Miss Geraldine Farrar, Fairhaven, Ridgefield, Connecticut." She writes to inform Cleland that she would be happy to come to Cooperstown for the celebration ceremony. She will be staying with good friends but would need a hotel room for her maid and chauffeur and garage space for the car. She writes that she would be happy to speak a few words into the mike but her singing days are over. She expects to arrive June 11th and remain until the 13th and request that the hotel rooms have a bath. It is signed "[Gua] Farrar." The date is on the bottom left of the third page. Page two is written on the verso of page one and the verso (not shown) of page three is blank.
