Letter from Roxey Roach to Nelle Stewart

DescriptionA 7-page letter with envelope (not shown) written by Roxey Roach to Nelle Stewart, August 6, 1910. It is handwritten on "Hotel Cadillac, Detroit, Mich." letterhead, written on both sides of 4 pages. He writes to tell her he received her letter and wonders why she didn't write a few letters a week ago. He's still hurt but everything is ok. He tells her he is worried about her since she has lost weight and hopes she can put some back on since she is small as it is. Roach mentions that they got beat by the Detroit Tigers the night before, even with Russ Ford pitching. He writes about the possibility of Nelle coming to Washington. He signs it "Love and Kisses, your Wilbur," his given name. The envelope has typed across the top "Hotel Cadillac, Detroit, Mich." The verso has an oval color image of the hotel.
