Big League Chewing Gum wrapper

DescriptionA "Big League Chewing Gum" wrapper dated 1934. The wrapper is made out of wax paper and was produced by the Goudey Gum Co. out of Boston, Mass. The center shows a ballpark with a game in progress, colored in red, green, and blue. The bottom of this center has a head shot of Lou Gehrig with his signature. Below it reads "Join the Knot Hole League!". It gives information on how many wrappers to send with 3 cents in stamps, how to send it, and what you will receive. To the left of this, is a round logo that reads "Knot Hole League of America" with Lou Gehrig signature in the center. It includes the Goudey Gum Co. address, and endorsement arranged by Christy Walsh. The top of the wrapper gives details on "Free Baseball Premiums!" includes gloves, baseball, suits, shown in the premium book you receive with your membership. This is followed by the numbers 1 through 9 and zero, white numbers inside red squares. The packs were issued with a stick of bubble gum, making them the first baseball gum cards.
