DescriptionA sepia-toned full-length portrait photograph of King Kelly. Kelly, facing the camera, wears a Boston Beaneaters uniform. Leaning to his right, Kelly rests his right elbow on a stone railing prop. In his left hand, that rests down by his side, Kelly grips a bat. He looks forward to the camera, establishing eye contact. Taken in a professional photography studio, a painted backdrop is visible. Based on research, this image was captured on April 26, 1887. In the bottom right corner is a handwritten inscription that reads, "Yours M. J. Kelly."
