The caption at the bottom of the photograph reads, "Phila, Pa-Shibe Park-John B. Kelly, Pres. of the Atlantic City, N.J. Racing Assoc., is shown awarding the 'John B. Kelly' solid gold athletic award to Connie Mack, retired Mgr. of the A's. The inscription reads, 'To Connie Mack, whose quality of living and active interest in clean sports has been an inspiration to American Youth'. In background is reproduction of the painting of Connie Mack." According to the caption, this photograph was taken on June 11, 1952.
