DescriptionA half-length black-and-white portrait photograph of King Kelly. Kelly, shown from the waist up, wears a Chicago White Stockings jersey. With arms crossed, Kelly looks forward to a point in the distance and to the left of the camera. The background is not original. Based on the career of Kelly, this portrait was captured between 1880 and 1886, the duration of his time with Chicago. Stamped on the reverse (not shown), in red ink, is the phrase, "RECEIVED SEP 26 1940." Two additional copies of this photograph exist. Stamped on the reverse of one copy (not shown), in red ink, is the phrase, "RECEIVED MAY 23 1939." A probably publication date of this image.
