DescriptionA black-and-white negative of an unidentified Brooklyn Dodgers player, dressed in a home uniform, up at bat. The batter is captured holding his bat out in a bunting position. Based on the #37 on the back of the uniform and the fact that the player is batting left, this may be Johnny Van Cuyk or Jim Russell; based on their time with the team, this photograph was taken between 1948 and 1951. An unidentified catcher and an unidentified umpire are captured behind home plate. An unidentified third base coach is visible along the sideline of the field. Ebbets Field is in the background. The stands are filled with baseball fans.
