Brooklyn Dodgers versus New York Yankees negative

Dateprobably 1940
DescriptionA black-and-white negative of a Brooklyn Dodgers baseball game against the New York Yankees. Joe DiMaggio is captured running through first base while the unidentified first baseman for the Brooklyn Dodgers is lunging to catch the baseball. An unidentified first base coach is visible on the sideline of the field. Pitcher Tex Carleton is captured watching the play from the pitcher's mound. A few unidentified baseball players are in the background standing alongside the field. Ebbets Field is visible in the background and is filled with numerous fans. Carleton is dressed in a Brooklyn Dodgers home uniform and DiMaggio is dressed in a New York Yankees road uniform. Based on Carleton and DiMaggio's uniforms and their time with their respective teams, this negative was probably taken in 1940.
