DescriptionA black-and-white photograph of Philadelphia Athletics manager Connie Mack (right) shaking hands with Athletics pitcher Lefty Grove (left). The two are standing on a baseball field. There are spectators visible in the stands in the background. A caption on the reverse (not shown) reads, "Manager Connie Mack is shown herein congratulating the gifted 'Lefty' shortly after the latter had tied the American League record by winning his sixteenth consecutive victory, against the Chicago White Sox. He's aiming at the thirty mark." Based on Groves playing career with the Athletics, this photograph was taken between 1925 and 1932.
