DescriptionA black-and-white photograph of Napoleon "Nap" Lajoie swinging a baseball bat. Lajoie swings the bat from the right-side of the plate and is near the end of his swing as indicated by the forward position of the bat relative to his body. Lajoie's back-right leg is at a right angle with his front-left leg extended. Lajoie's face exudes intense concentration and exertion. Based on the details of his Cleveland Naps uniform, this photograph was taken between 1910 and 1912. Surrounding Lajoie's frame is a shading paint to isolate his from the rest of the picture and outline him. In the background on the left side sits a man wearing a hat. The stadium is unidentified.
